We have been learning about abstract art. It’s all about creating works of art that don’t actually look like anything. We focused on the American artist Frank Stella, who liked to make pictures using shapes like circles, triangles and rectangles.

This week for play, make, create We read a book called I am peace it was a book about emotions. For our writing task we had to write 3 paragraphs about a time we felt anxious, nervous or out of control. For my create I made a anchor. Here is my work
Yesterday, for maths we had to read a step by step procedure for making a 3D clock. It was very tricky. We had to measure in centimetres to make equilateral triangles, measure the angles with a protractor to check they were 60 degrees, make a clock face and arrows and tie it all together with string. I was glad when I finished. The clock hands were the hardest part. Here is a picture of my clock.
We had to do a handwriting sample this week. My handwriting is not that good but it’s way better than the start of the year. Here it is:
