Catching the Sun retold by Brody

We have been learning how to write a narrative. We rewrote a story called Catching the Sun. Here is my version.

“Hello Fox, Magpie and Deer,'' said Saynday as they sprinted up to him. “It’s too icy here”. “We need some light”. “Who’s a fast runner”? “I'm a fast runner” said Fox. “So am I but Fox is faster” said Deer. “You'll have to live there until they trust you” said Saynday. So Fox darted to the other side of the world. When he got there it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t hot it was boiling. He lived there with the Sun people until they trusted him. They taught him how to play their game. One day when they were playing their game Fox knew it was his chance. So he grabbed the sun and darted to Deer and passed it to her. The Sun people were far behind so Deer darted to Magpie and passed it to her so she flew to Saynday. The Sun people were a million miles behind. It got too hot and bright so Saynday threw the sun into the sky so it could be night and day on both sides of the world. And they all lived happily.
